Personal Experience & Biography
Adam McAfee is an educator and mental health professional. He serves as the School Psychologist at Souhegan High School in Amherst, New Hampshire.
A born Nashua native, Adam grew up through the Nashua Public School system. Adam found his call to education as a Service Leader in the AmeriCorps program, City Year. As a Service Leader, Adam led classrooms at Beech Street Elementary School in Manchester where he coached students in academic and social emotional learning. Adam’s experience at City Year emboldened his strong belief in the transformative power of empathy, inclusion, and social justice.
Adam trained as a School Psychologist at The Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) in Dorchester, Massachusetts while a graduate student at Tufts University. At NHCS, Adam sharpened his skills in culturally responsive care and neuropsychological assessment. Adam is an ardent advocate for students committed to equity in mental health services and education.
Adam earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Political Science from the College of the Holy Cross. Adam earned his Masters in Education and Educational Specialist Degree (Ed.S) from Tufts University and is a Licensed Educational Psychologist.
