BOUNCY Social Emotional Curriculum

BOUNCY is a social-emotional learning (SEL) program designed for K-1 students. The program focuses on developing essential life skills, such as self-awareness, self-regulation, and relationships skills. BOUNCY is typically delivered in a whole-class format, with lessons lasting approximately 15-30 minutes (Ripple Effects, 2020). The program is designed to be flexible, allowing teachers to adapt the lessons to fit their classroom needs. BOUNCY is an evidence-based program, incorporating practices grounded in research. For example, the program’s focus on self-awareness and self-regulation is supported by research highlighting the importance of these skills in promoting academic success and mental health (Durlak et al., 2011). Additionally, BOUNCY’s emphasis on relationships skills is consistent with research demonstrating the critical role of positive relationships in supporting student learning and well-being (Hamre & Pianta, 2001). Overall, BOUNCY provides a comprehensive and evidence-based approach to supporting the social-emotional needs students in K-1. A classroom kit for 6 Kindergarten classrooms will be purchased and implemented as part of our SEL program for the 2025-2026 school year. Each classroom kit will include an animatronic dog, classroom library, games, reproducibles, feelings cards, and take home BOUNCY stuffed animals for students to practice skills at home.
